$300,000 over 42 months to implement a Knowledge for Freedom Program, based on the already-successful House Divided Project, a rigorous course of study that introduces students to fundamental moral, philosophical, and political debates about the historical struggle for freedom in the United States. The humanities seminar will serve low-income students from underrepresented populations in the central Pennsylvania region, focusing on “the story of slavery and its resistance” in the U.S.
