Grant Summary
$300,000 over 42 months to Valdosta State University (VSU) to give underserved high school seniors from Southern Georgia an opportunity to participate in a three-week humanities seminar and a school-year civic engagement program. After a rigorous 12-month planning process, VSU is prepared to implement all the components of the Knowledge for Freedom program, including a rigorous academic seminar, college application support, and an opportunity to return to campus during the year to complete a public service project. VSU also brings unique assets to the model through its ongoing commitment to families and communities in Southern Georgia.
