Grant Summary

$25,000 over 12 months to develop College Readiness through Civic Engagement, a four-week immersiv summer seminar and year-long follow up program for underserved high school students who attend schools in Southern Georgia, also known as the Wiregrass region. The four-week intensive seminar will introduce students to transformative thinkers in American democratic thought from Abraham Lincoln and John Adams to Martin Luther King Jr. and Stacey Abrams. Students will have an opportunity to think deeply about the political and ethical debates that have shaped their lives.
