Grant Summary
$25,000 over 12 months to design coherent sequences of gateway and other core humanities courses that connect curriculum to students’ “meta-majors.” which include Health Careers; Science, Engineering, & Math; Business & Technology; Industrial Trades; Public Service; and Liberal Arts. To create a common intellectual experience in the gateway courses, faculty will redesign English 1301: Composition I and create a new Humanities 1301: Introduction to Humanities course, which will be piloted during the planning phase. Faculty will also develop general education pathways for each meta-major that emphasize connections between the humanities and students’ career aspirations.
