Grant Summary

$25,000 over 12 months to develop a first-year Transformative Texts course that creates a common intellectual experience for incoming students and a minor/pathway certificate program within the general education curriculum. During the planning period, Michigan Tech will pilot 3 sections of the proposed transformative texts course. They will also develop 1-2 interdisciplinary minors and pathway certificates that center the humanities and satisfy significant portions of the general education curriculum while providing students with a coherent educational experience that demonstrates the relevance of the humanities to STEM majors and their future careers.
