Faculty will ensure all sections of required writing courses are anchored in common reading assignments drawn from a consensus list of texts. After completing at least one gateway course, students can then earn a Certificate in Integrated General Education by completing an additional nine units of their General Education requirements in one of three thematic clusters: Maritime Culture, Leadership and Global Citizenship, or Environment and Sustainability.
