Grant Summary
$90,000 over 12 months to support a partnership between Fordham University and BronxWorks. The program is divided into two experiences: an intensive five-week summer component and a series of workshops offered throughout the academic year. The summer experience combines academics in the classroom, field work, research, group projects, and a week-long, residential research project. It is facilitated by Fordham faculty as well as undergraduates serving as college mentors. Academic year programming provides BronxWorks’s students with access to the Fordham campus, college mentors, and university administrators and staff. Weekend workshops hosted on Fordham’s campus explore all aspects of the college application and selection process as well as the college experience. During the grant period, BronxWorks and Fordham will also work toward sustainability planning for the future of their collaboration.
