Grant Summary
$240,000 over 42 months to implement Purpose and Power: Women Shaping History, a Knowledge for Freedom program, which gives promising underserved high school seniors from the Roanoke Valley an opportunity to participate in a two-week humanities seminar and a school-year college support and civic engagement program. Hollins University is the first women’s college in the KFF network, and it is also the first program that has extensive support structures for local low-income high school students to attend and graduate from the University.
