Gregory N. Brown served as the vice president for finance and administration from 2014 until his retirement in 2022. Prior to joining Swarthmore, he served as chief operating officer (2008–2014) and vice president for finance and planning (2006–2008) at Barnard College; as chief administrative officer at Hebrew Union College (2004–2006); as assistant vice chancellor and controller for the University of California, Berkeley (1999–2004); as controller for the city of New Haven, Conn. (1994–1999); and as finance director for the town of North Branford, Conn. (1992–1994). In addition, he worked at Yale University from 1981 to 1992 in a variety of capacities in the controller’s office, the Office of Budget and Planning, the internal audit department, and the School of Drama. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an M.P.A. from the University of New Haven.
