The Teagle Liblog

| January 26, 2010 Welcome to 2010 By Donna Heiland, The Teagle Foundation I spent part of last week at the Annual Meeting of the Association of American Colleges & Universities, and what a meeting it was! Attendance hit a new high, at (I think I have this right) well over 1800, and plenaries, papers, workshops and less formal events offered a range of perspectives on the meeting’s very timely theme: “The Wit, the Will and the Wallet: Supporting Educational Innovation, Shaping Our Global Futures.” Teagle grantees were represented in force, many of them presenting findings of their Teagle-funded projects to advance student learning, and a reception hosted by the Foundation gave new president Rich Morrill a chance to greet the many people who came to that event. Looking around the reception, I was struck by the richness of the Teagle community, by the talent and dedication of the men and women with whom we’ve been lucky enough to work over the past several years. And so it is with great enthusiasm that I write to say how pleased we are that members of the Teagle community are increasingly agreeing to contribute to the Liblog, even to guest edit the Liblog for periods of time. We’ll start next month with Teagle grantee Dan Bernstein, Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Kansas. Dan will edit the Liblog for the month of February, and we hope you’ll join the discussion by posting comments to the blog. Email This Article | Subscribe to E-Updates |
