Grant Summary
$290,000.00 over 36 months to give promising underserved high school students from southwest Ohio a rigorous humanities summer seminar. Student Citizens will launch during the academic year with a course for undergraduate students, who will serve as summer mentors to the high school students. These undergraduate students will study the transformative texts they will teach over the summer, such as Plato’s Republic and The Federalist Papers, and will think deeply about the questions at the center of Student Citizens, such as what are the obligations of citizenship. Teagle support will help build and sustain the program over three years.
