Grant Summary
$75,000 over 36 months to Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) for the project "The New York City Leadership Corps", which represents a sub-program of LEDA's national work to develop the academic and leadership potential of exceptional public high school students from low-income backgrounds in order to offset the ongoing underrepresentation of these students in the national leadership pipeline.
Hosted on the campus of Princeton University, a cohort of 100 rising seniors engages in leadership development training, standardized test preparation, writing instruction, college guidance, and campus tours. During the academic year, students continue to receive in-depth college counseling and letters of recommendation in support of their college and scholarship applications. Once matriculated into college, LEDA provides ongoing guidance through meetings by phone, Skype, or in-person.
