Grant Summary

$50,000 over 24 months to support the College Retention Advising Program at Bronx Haven High School. BHHS is a transfer school that was created by East Side House in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education to serve the unique needs of over-age (16-21), under-credited students at risk of dropping out of high school. The College Retention and Placement Coordinator is charged with (1) educating BHHS students about college options; (2) helping prepare students who wish to attend college for selection, application, financial placement and enrollment; and (3) supporting persistence through the first-year of college of BHHS alumni.
